Expanding our presence in Scotland with four new acquisitions

Just six months after entering the Scottish market, we’ve continued our expansion with the acquisition of four more practices: Walton Kilgour (Perth and Pitlochry), Ian MacFarlane & Co (Falkirk), JC Wallace & Co (Glasgow), and Bird Simpson & Co (Dundee).

This brings us to 29 offices across the UK and over 600 staff, making us one of the fastest-growing accountancy firms in the UK. In Scotland alone, we now have five locations and more than 150 professionals, many of whom have long-standing ties to the SME communities they serve.

Unlike some national consolidators, we take a local-first approach—working with teams who are already embedded in their local business networks and keeping leadership and client relationships in place post-acquisition.

Shaun Knight, our CEO, commented:

“We believe in local people delivering local services to local businesses. That’s what drives our growth. Since arriving in Scotland just six months ago, we’ve been approached by firms who see the value of what we’re doing—combining personal service with the scale and technical strength of a wider national team. These new additions reflect our commitment to Scotland as a region we’re actively investing in. And we’re only just getting started.”

We offer a wide range of specialist services, from Corporate Finance to Restructuring and Banking, giving clients direct access to senior advisors without needing to go outside the firm.

Ed Hill, our Managing Director, added:

“Our integration model has been built to minimise disruption. It’s repeatable, it’s structured, and it works. From onboarding staff to migrating systems and aligning values, we’ve invested in a scalable process that lets firms join us with confidence, but it’s not about control—it’s about supporting people to do what they do best.”

The Scottish teams who’ve joined us have retained their leadership and continue to serve their clients as they always have—now with the added benefit of access to a national team of experts and technical support. For many of these firms, this move also brings continuity and future planning in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Knight continued:

“Our strategy isn’t to rush into every region. We look for the right firms with the right people. These acquisitions are not about ticking boxes—they are about shared values. And that’s why they work. Scotland is a region where we’ll continue to grow, but we’ll do it by building relationships with like-minded teams that care about their clients and their communities.”

Since launching in 2021, we’ve completed 35 acquisitions, building a national footprint in just over four years. Backed by Palatine Private Equity, we continue to grow through a mix of acquisitions and organic expansion.

At a time when other firms are centralising and scaling back local services, we’re doubling down on our belief that trusted, local advice is what SMEs need most.
