Title: IT Finance and Purchasing Lead

Location: Aldridge Department: Finance

Overall Purpose

We are pleased to be recruiting for an experienced IT Finance and Purchasing Lead to join our growing IT support team. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the IT finance and costing function to include purchasing, procurement, monthly adherence to budget and cost optimisation.

 

 

Brief Job Description

Sitting between our finance team and our IT function, the successful candidate will effectively manage the monthly costings and ensure that best practice is being followed for equipment purchasing. They will have responsibility for the IT procurement function and liaise with our MSP to ensure best prices are achieved on hardware, connectivity and software purchases, whilst being accountable to the CTO for adherence to budget.

 

The successful candidate should have a good view of all IT processes including some technical skills, to be able to understand what equipment is needed and benchmark cost to procure.

 

There will be the need to deal with both internal and external accounts teams and form relationships with key suppliers to obtain volume discounts where appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements for the role

Minimum Experience/Skills:

 

  • Generalist IT background, ideally with some technical knowledge
  • Must have worked in a finance role for minimum of 2 years and have a detailed understanding of the types of purchases made by an IT department and be able to benchmark against market costings
  • Some budgeting experience
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise a multitude of tasks
  • Comfortable talking to both end users and suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of integrity

 

Additional Requirements:

 

Given the size of the IT team there is likely to be some local travel involved to deal with break fixes and assistance to the field function where required. A Company van will be provided to facilitate this.
