Thursday 11 February 2021 saw the Government announce a £20 Million SME Brexit Support fund to support small and medium sized businesses. This new grant is there to help business adjust to the new custom, rules of origin and VAT rules when trading with the EU.

Businesses who trade with the EU will be able to apply for the grant of up to £2000 to pay for the practical support for importing and exporting along with the preparation of the import controls that will come into force from April and July.

This grant will be administered through the pre existing Customs Grant Scheme which will open for applications in March.
